Hello October!

We have entered the last quarter of the year and days have become longer and warmer. This also means you still have about 3 months to learn something new.

That is why we would love to invite you to join our first ever Patternmaking - Level 2 course. This course is perfect for you, if you have attended our Basic Patternmaking course or already have some knowledge of pattern drafting.

The course will run over 9 weeks, 1 x 2.5 hour lessons per week.
During the course we will teach you how to draft and adapt a stretch bodice and sleeve block. You will also get the opportunity to create your own dress, trouser and shirt designs and we will guide you through the process of creating patterns for the individual designs.

The course kicks off on Saturday, 24 October at 8:15-10:45.
Cost for the course is R4200 and includes brown paper.

If you have been meaning to join one of our beginner's sewing courses, now is a good a time as ever. Our last start dates for 2020 are:

Monday 19 October, 18:00-20:00
Saturday 7 November, 11:00-13:00
Friday 13 November, 10:00-12:00

Cost for our course is R2990 and includes everything you would need for the 6 classes. This means you only need to bring yourself and lots of enthusiasm.

You have asked and we have listened. We have set dates for our kids sewing camp.

The camp will run over 3 days, 2.5 hours per day. Over the course of the 3 days we will teach them how to operate a domestic sewing machine and sew 2 or 3 fun projects.

Cost for the classes are R1200 per person and includes all materials.

We also offer a variety of crafting lessons, such as crochet and embroidery.
Our latest addition to our crafting classes is felting. Felting has grown in popularity over the past year and we would like to introduce you to this craft.

What is felting, you may ask?

Felting is a process that causes felting yarn like wool, to fray and fuse to other fibers around it. In the end it creates a more solid or dense appearance. It can be used to decorate something or simply create a variety of items, like this cute dog, pictured below.

On another note, Create.sewing shop has returned to regular operating hours. You can now visit our shop and stock up on all sewing and crafting goodies throughout the week.

Pop in Tuesday-Friday, 9:30-17:30 and Saturday, 9:00-14:00.

Keep a look out for some summer inspired workshops later this year, such as swimwear.
